Damen Shipyards bouwt schepen en biedt maritieme oplossingen gericht op verantwoord en efficiënt gebruik van de mogelijkheden die oceanen, zeeën, meren en rivieren bieden. Veiligheid en gezondheid vormen een vast onderdeel van het bedrijfsbeleid en zijn essentieel voor de activiteiten op alle Damen-locaties, waaronder kantoren, scheepswerven, schepen, projectlocaties en andere locaties wereldwijd waar medewerkers actief zijn. Het beleid is erop gericht letsel aan personen te voorkomen en veiligheid te waarborgen voor personeel, onderaannemers en partners. Dit wordt ondersteund door maatregelen om zowel fysiek als mentaal welzijn te bevorderen en door medewerkers te betrekken bij het creëren van een veilige werkplek. Damen hanteert hiervoor de principes Plan it Safe, Do it Safe en Prove it Safe.
De rol
Als Group H&S Specialist ben jij de drijvende kracht achter een veiligere werkomgeving binnen alle Damen-divisies. Je ontwikkelt en onderhoudt een robuust Health & Safety managementsysteem dat niet alleen voldoet aan wet- en regelgeving, maar ook een volwassen veiligheidscultuur stimuleert. Je schakelt moeiteloos tussen strategisch beleid en operationele uitvoering, en bent hét aanspreekpunt voor interne en externe stakeholders.
Je werkt vanuit Gorinchem, maar je impact reikt wereldwijd – met regelmatige bezoeken aan onze internationale werven.

Newbuild
Damen has delivered more than 6,500 vessels in 100 countries and delivers some 175 vessels annually to customers worldwide. Damen’s focus on standardisation, modular construction and keeping vessels on stock leads to short delivery times, low total cost of ownership and reliable performance. We offer a wide range of products including tugs, naval and patrol vessels, high speed craft, ferries, dredging, offshore vessels and superyachts.
Shiprepair & conversion
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
Services
Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.
Components
Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
