Challenges you
Hydrauvision is a specialist and leader in drive technology. We operate worldwide as a versatile, full-service provider of hydraulic and electric drives. We design, manufacture, maintain, overhaul, and rent hydraulic systems and piping to numerous industrial companies, international dredging and offshore contractors, civil engineering companies, and other industries where drive technology plays a role. These companies find in Hydrauvision the partner for whom no challenge is too great.
You can only be and remain a leader if you work with high-quality materials, are constantly ambitious and eager to learn, and stay focused on the most optimal solution for your customers. At Hydrauvision, we set the bar high. We challenge ourselves to think outside the box and be alert to new opportunities and possibilities. Innovations begin with us, and the best end products come from us. This is how we are and remain the leading specialist in complete hydraulic and electric drive systems and associated controls.
The projects we work on vary widely in nature, size, and complexity. We can not only design, install, commission, and maintain innovative mega-projects, but also provide periodic maintenance for hydraulic machinery and overhaul or repair drive systems and components. And by "we," we mean our employees. They are the ones with the technical knowledge and expertise. They combine high-quality engineering with inventiveness, perseverance, and the drive to serve every customer as best as possible. They are Hydrauvision.
We could tell you a lot about our employees. About how motivated they are, the challenges and opportunities we offer them, and how we interact with each other at Hydrauvision. But we'd rather let them tell you for themselves what working at Hydrauvision means to them. "The company's versatility is what really appeals to me," says Service Technician Glenn Verbeke. "Where I work, in new construction, we tailor everything to the customer's needs. Power packs and winches, for example, water transport systems, and all sorts of other hydraulic solutions. These are often large, powerful systems. That makes it even more enjoyable."
Glenn started working at Hydrauvision right after completing his Mechanical Engineering studies. “I had already completed an internship and a summer job at Hydrauvision. I enjoyed it so much that when I was offered a job after my final internship, I didn't hesitate. There's so much going on within this company, and you can truly grow in all directions. Engineering, service, purchasing/sales, new construction, maintenance. Hydrauvision gives you the opportunity to gain experience and offers training programs to further your development. I'd like to progress to Commissioning Engineer. Hydrauvision is helping me achieve this. The work I'm doing now, creating and testing new systems, is already fantastic, but then I get to put them into operation on-site. Often that's abroad. That sounds fantastic.”
Everything Glenn and his colleagues build is designed in Hydrauvision's engineering department. This is where they originate from, from innovative new construction projects to optimizations and expansions of existing hydraulic systems. "I enjoy innovative new construction projects the most," says Simulation Engineer Johnny Wang. "In those projects, you have maximum freedom of thought and design. Something doesn't exist yet, so you really have to think outside the box, and that's incredibly motivating. It's always exciting to see how you can arrive at the best possible solutions. Before I started working here, I had no idea how extensive the scope of systems is or what's possible in the design. Now, my biggest challenge is to consistently assemble the best drive systems from all these options."
As a Simulation Engineer, Johnny recreates parts of a system on the computer and identifies areas for improvement in the design. "This also applies to existing systems. The challenge there is to figure out how to optimize and/or expand a system. I don't come up with all of this on my own, but with the entire engineering team. We brainstorm various options together and develop them, each with their own expertise. A project is always approached from all disciplines, such as control engineering, hydraulics, and mechanics, and together we create the best possible drive system, specifically tailored to the customer's needs and process."
While designing and building complete hydraulic system solutions requires teamwork, we give all our employees individual freedom and responsibility. Johnny explains: “It's fun to work on exciting projects with colleagues from different disciplines who think differently than you. But everyone has their own tasks, and that works very efficiently. At Hydrauvision, you have a lot of freedom. I can decide how I do my work. And if I ever need to brainstorm, I can quickly turn to my colleagues and manager. Everyone here is very easygoing, and the atmosphere is informal. That promotes collaboration and makes working here a great experience.”
The icing on the cake for many Hydrauvision employees is the final result. The mechanics see this final result every day, and the engineers are also involved. Johnny: “The best part of the job is seeing a project come to life. Seeing what you envisioned become reality. Whether it's a small but significant improvement in the efficiency of an existing hydraulic system or an innovative technology for a multi-million dollar project that allows for major sustainability improvements, it's a collaborative effort. I regularly receive feedback from my colleagues on the shop floor. Hearing from them that they and the customer are happy because everything is working well is incredibly satisfying.”
At Hydrauvision, we take on the challenge every day to create even better, more efficient, and more sustainable systems. We challenge you to join us in this challenge.

Jifmar is a worldwide maritime operator. As a core business, we charter workboats for our clients. Jifmar is much more than just a charterer, we provide our clients real support for their maritime project. Since Jifmar’s creation in 2005, we have been able to differentiate ourselves by offering our customers a tailor-made service and pushing the boundaries of what is available in the maritime industry based on innovation. For Jifmar, innovation is a driver.
At Jifmar, innovation is much more than just a buzzword: it’s a philosophy, a driver of progress and a fundamental part of our DNA. Innovation guides our every decision, defining our past, shaping our present and undoubtedly paving the way for our future. Since our genesis, we have been built around innovation. Innovation can take two main forms: innovation through use (incremental) or raw innovation (creative). Jifmar has built its identity on innovation through use, going beyond the established boundaries of the sector.
When we bought the JIF Xplorer, that was a tuna fish vessel and we transformed it to a multi-purpose survey vessel for the behalf of the French Ministry of Defence. To do that it had been cut in two parts to add the back deck and a 25 t gantry. Thus, we have developed the use of this type of vessel as well as the habits of our sector of activity. The multi-purpose vessel, which is at the heart of our business, is the very first illustration of this. One of the most recent examples is Canopée, the first hybrid industrial cargo ship.
Safety is a core value that underpins every aspect of our business. We regard safety as an absolute imperative, a non-negotiable priority that guides our every decision and action. For us, safety is much more than simply complying with standards and regulations. It is a culture rooted in our DNA, where protecting the lives, health and property of our employees, customers and partners is paramount.
Indeed, our history is one of a series of bold innovations: ideas that have taken shape, game-changing solutions and breakthroughs that have transformed the way the maritime industry is used by offering new solutions. But our commitment to innovation goes far beyond our past successes, it also lights our way into the future. Innovation is not just a business model or a means of stimulating economic growth, but also an essential catalyst for achieving sustainable performances, in harmony with the economic, social and environmental imperatives of our time.
For us, innovation is more than just an activity or a goal to be achieved; it’s our raison d’être, our passion and our promise to our customers, our employees and our world.
We provide our customers with real expertise. We combine years of practical experience with a deep understanding of market trends and the changing needs of our customers to maintain our commitment to excellence.
Sustainability is a fundamental value that guides our actions and shapes our vision of the future and is present at every level of our business. This means not only minimizing our impact on the environment, but also taking into account the social and economic dimensions of our decisions.

For us, safety is much more than simply complying with standards and regulations. It’s a culture rooted in our DNA, where protecting the lives, health and property of our employees, customers and partners is paramount.

DEME is a world leader in the highly specialized fields of offshore energy, dredging, marine infrastructure, and environmental works. We also engage in concessions activities in offshore energy, maritime infrastructure, green hydrogen and deep sea mineral harvesting. With 150 years of experience and nearly 6,000 highly skilled professionals, we have built up a vast bank of knowledge and expertise which has allowed us to foster a pioneering approach throughout our history. This enables us to bring tailor-made solutions, innovation and new technologies to our customers’ projects, ensuring that they are performed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
While our roots are in Belgium, DEME has built a strong presence across the globe. We operate one of the largest and most technologically advanced fleet of vessels in the world, supported by a broad range of auxiliary equipment.
Solutions for global challenges
Our vision is to work towards a sustainable future by offering solutions for global challenges.
The urgent need for reduction of emissions has led the Paris Agreement to commit countries to Net Zero Emissions by 2050, spurring growth for clean energy. The resulting energy transition and the related electrification are expected to result in a growing demand for critical minerals.
The rising sea levels are forcing a necessity for new types of marine infrastructure and coastal protection.
The growing population and fast urbanization pace are increasing the need for land reclamation and brownfield development in already densely populated areas.
The rising maritime trade activity requires constant marine infrastructure upgrades to ensure ship access and suitable ports.
Finally, increasingly polluted rivers and soils give rise to stricter regulations and public investment programs that push for more environmental solutions.
Through its diversified portfolio of activities, DEME is well positioned to tackle each one of those challenges.
Exploring new horizons
We also strongly believe in turning challenges into opportunities. That’s why we are continuously looking for ways to deploy our knowledge and expertise in other activities, exploring new horizons and expanding our solutions portfolio. We are building on our experience in coastal protection to develop nature-based solutions to tackle the rising sea level. We aim to be a frontrunner in green hydrogen by operating industrial-scale production facilities. With Global Sea Mineral Resources we develop technologies to source critical minerals needed for the energy transition in the most responsible way. Investing in new activities underlines how important pioneering is to DEME.
Our company is founded on strong beliefs and values that have navigated us through many challenges throughout our history. These values define who we are as an organisation. We live by them in everything we do.
We care
We care about our people, our many diverse stakeholders, the success of our projects and above all, the future of our planet.
The safety and wellbeing of our employees is always our number one priority. We foster a diverse
and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered to contribute their
unique talents and perspectives to our collective success.
Working together as one team, we look out for each other and we ensure that each employee gets the support they deserve to excel in their careers.
We care about our customers and want to support them in achieving their goals. We listen carefully to their exact requirements and work shoulder to shoulder with our customers, partners and suppliers, to ensure that each project is a success.
We care for our planet by addressing the challenges of a growing population, increasing maritime trade, climate change and polluted rivers and land.
We dare
We have been pioneering for 150 years. We don’t follow. We explore, push boundaries, innovate. We invest in the future, with our fleet of dedicated vessels bringing groundbreaking concepts to the industry.
We are first. We go through the learning curve before others have even thought about it. We gain the knowledge needed to take the next step and this expertise allows us to anticipate industry developments – to understand what our customers are going to need in an ever-evolving landscape.
We are not bound by tradition. Our talented professionals look beyond the ‘norm’. They develop new equipment, concepts, and technologies, so we can create opportunities and enter new markets - even create new markets.
We deliver
We build on decades of experience and knowhow to provide the safest, smartest and sustainable solutions for our customers, no matter how challenging the project. Our team will always go the extra mile to get the job done.
We understand our customers’ business inside out and know how vital it is to complete projects on time and on budget. Our customers know we are a trustworthy and reliable partner.
Our dedication to continuous improvement and operational excellence means we are constantly innovating and refining our approach to deliver even greater value to our customers.
We deliver on our promises. We deliver excellence.
Undoubtedly, the world is facing multiple global challenges, from rising sea levels, CO2 emissions, a scarcity of resources, a growing population to an increasing demand for energy. The United Nations has attempted to tackle many of these issues by initiating 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to create a better, more sustainable world by 2030.
At DEME we strongly believe that everyone has a role to play - governments, companies and individuals – and we have stepped up to the challenge by integrating several of the SDGs into our business. This will help us create sustainable value for customers, ourselves, stakeholders and in the wider society.
We are leveraging our resources and expertise to help achieve these universal goals for a sustainable future and we understand that to have the largest possible impact, we need to do more than simply minimise the footprint of our own operations. Therefore, we are designing and implementing business solutions that address specific UN SDGs.
Everyone at DEME, together with our shareholders, is committed to playing a pioneering role that proactively investigates technological solutions to tackle these challenges. But we know we cannot do it working alone, so we have reached out and joined forces with partners in the maritime sector, research and science community, non-governmental organisations, technical solution providers, climate experts and many others. Together we believe we can truly make a difference.
At the heart of DEME's sustainable growth
Pushing the boundaries of innovation continues to be at the heart of DEME - it is actually one of our core values. We understand that innovation gives us an edge in this competitive environment.
Our investments in new technology prove just how important innovation is to us. Employees across the globe collaborate on technological developments with the goal of introducing sustainable solutions in the markets where we operate. We consider the close cooperation between sites, vessels, project management teams and technical and engineering departments to be the key element in delivering innovative solutions for our customers.
We identify challenges that need solving and then look to our people via several programs designed to seek out and support innovative initiatives. One example is the DEME-X campaign, which focuses on disruptive, transformational innovation. Additionally, every two to three years we organize the Innovation Diver, which is aimed at employees worldwide.
Working in the marine environment, nature and ecological value are at the heart of DEME’s business. One of the ways we increase ecological value is by exploring opportunities to recover, improve, or develop ecosystems in each of our projects through the application of Nature-based Solutions (NbS).
By applying Nature-based Solutions, we are able to increase and explore ecosystem services (for example, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, etc.) while at the same time safeguarding project requirements.
We are dedicated to carrying out more sustainable marine works for us, for our customers, and crucially, for the local community and the environment.

The Force of Smart Connection
Hendrik Veder Group is a European company operating globally from offices in the Netherlands, England, Scotland, France, Norway, and Poland. Its headquarters are located in the Port of Rotterdam. It supplies products and services worldwide in the field of steel wire rope and synthetic rope, which are essential for the offshore and maritime sectors, as well as total solutions and services for many other industries. The Hendrik Veder Group aims to make the maritime sector more sustainable. Together with leading clients, we achieve sustainability in innovative ways. This creates new, cost-effective solutions through inventory, maintenance, and circular raw material approaches.
Hendrik Veder Group has grown into a leading company in the field of lifting and hoisting equipment, characterized for centuries by quality, craftsmanship, and innovation. Even after nearly five centuries, it's a company that, together with its customers, continues to strive to utilize these resources most effectively.
This is also reflected in the recently launched Asset Management concept, which combines substantial process savings with a circular approach. In other words, an approach that saves customers money and improves their sustainability profile. This is achieved through optimization of reuse, efficient inventory management, and a circular solution for materials that are no longer usable.
What does that look like in practice? After a project is completed, Hendrik Veder's experts take inventory of the existing lifting equipment. They inspect, refurbish, test, approve, and administer the assets. Through a sustainable partnership and expertise in cable management, Hendrik Veder adds value to its partners and achieves its sustainability goals cost-effectively.
This approach leads to substantial savings for the customer because valuable equipment can be reused safely and efficiently. New equipment needs to be purchased less frequently. Cables and other lifting and hoisting equipment that have reached the end of their lifespan are a highly valuable resource.
Hendrik Veder Group ensures that customers maintain control over this raw material and therefore don't have to pay twice for the same one. This not only results in cost savings but also a demonstrably higher sustainability profile for the customer, which in turn allows them to distinguish themselves in tenders.
Hendrik Veder Group is a 475-year-old company that already collaborated with Michiel de Ruyter and is now working with its current clients to make them more sustainable and cost-efficient.
Working at Hendrik Veder Group
At Hendrik Veder, we have an informal, family-like atmosphere where we treat each other with respect. We value everyone's efforts and will do everything we can to ensure that "the right man/woman is in the right place" and can develop there.
When you join Hendrik Veder, your first day will consist of a comprehensive onboarding program. During this day, colleagues from all departments will visit to talk about their work, allowing you to learn as much as possible and get to know your colleagues. Afterward, you'll be assigned to the production hall for a few days, where you'll be working with the Production Team to manufacture our high-quality products.

We work hard here, but we also enjoy relaxing and having fun. Welcome aboard De Bock Maritiem
De Bock Maritiem is a driven and young shipping company with enthusiastic and professional employees. With its own ships and highly trained personnel, De Bock Maritiem is successful in sea-river shipping. De Bock Maritiem specializes in dry cargo vessels with low air draft and shallow draught. From its office in Alkmaar, De Bock Maritiem is working to perfect its specialization in sea-river shipping. "Inland-outland" transport, as it is also called, involves shipping cargo across coastal and inland waterways without transshipment. This has several advantages: it is faster, cheaper, and reduces the risk of cargo damage. In addition, De Bock Maritiem offers complete ship management services under its Safety and Quality Services. Contact us for information about all the possibilities. De Bock Maritiem: Ambitious in sea-river shipping!
Working at De Bock Maritiem means working for a modern shipping company, with young and ambitious people at the helm.
Quality and dedication are paramount at De Bock Maritiem. We're always looking for people who, like us, are eager to achieve their ambitions. With us, you can grow on deck, on the bridge, in the engine room, or at our office in our home port of Alkmaar.
We are looking for seafarers with a passion for inland navigation. Some experience in inland navigation is a plus, as is possession of PECs and/or inland navigation papers. However, paperwork is not required, as long as one is willing to gain in-depth knowledge of ports and inland navigation and is willing to sail without a pilot whenever possible.
Our relatively small coasters generally sail without an engineer, but with technical support from shore. Crew members work on deck, on the bridge, and in the engine room. Dual-certified seafarers (Marofs) are therefore preferred. Here too, dual certification is not required, as long as some basic technical knowledge and a willingness to delve deeper into the technical aspects.
At De Bock Maritiem, we value personal contact and a sense of connection with the ship, crew, and company. Come meet us and experience what we can do for you at De Bock Maritiem.

VIKING: to protect and save human lives all over the world!

In a globalised and interconnected world, with a rapidly increasing population and demand for a modern lifestyle, the need for power is constantly growing. At NKT, we have made it our purpose to bring power to life by helping meet the growing need for energy.
Founded in 1891, during the second industrial revolution, we pioneered the cable industry in the Nordics. Today, we master the fourth industrial revolution with our energy transportation expertise and cost-effective manufacturing facilities at the highest technological level, delivering lifetime value to our customers and the global society.
We take pride in long-term relationships and effortless collaborations, making doing business with us simple, convenient, and efficient. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, maybe because we see ourselves as both their local partner and international supplier, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the right cable solution.
The environments in which our products and solutions function are often harsh and unfriendly. Laying down a long sea cable on the ocean floor in an unexpected storm or repairing 100-year-old power cables in the ground of a busy metropolis is not for everyone. We know that performance counts in challenging circumstances, and that is when we deliver.
NKT connects a greener world with high-quality power cable technology and takes centre stage as the world moves towards green energy. NKT designs, manufactures, and installs low, medium, and high voltage power cable solutions enabling sustainable energy transmission.
Offices and production sites in more than 16 countries

Equipped for impact
We are Huisman. We design and manufacture heavy construction equipment for the world's leading companies in the renewable energy, oil and gas, civil engineering, naval, and recreational markets. Our product portfolio includes cranes, pipelay systems, drilling rigs, winches, ship designs, and special projects. With our passionate employees and global production, service, and sales facilities, we are equipped for impact during this time of transition.
Huisman's history is characterized by setting new industry standards. Making an impact. We've been doing this since 1929. With step-changing technical solutions ranging from standalone components to highly advanced, integrated systems. From concept to installation and lifetime support.
Our products range from cranes, pipelay equipment, drilling equipment, and winches to ship designs and specials. Why do companies choose us? Because of our entrepreneurial spirit, expertise, reliability, and especially our innovative solutions.
In 1982, we delivered our first-ever mast crane, a unique concept thanks to its small footprint, superior load curve, and small tail swing. This crane could lift 40 meters. Now, in 2021, we delivered the largest gripper for wind turbine installation, the largest offshore mast crane, and the largest tub-mounted cranes in the world. 203 vessels have now been equipped with our equipment. All the equipment we've manufactured can lift a combined 150,000 meters, and with our largest crane, we can lift 1,667 elephants in a single lift!
"Equipped for impact" isn't something you can simply claim. That's why we're constantly working on new solutions and systems that we believe add value to existing technologies for various markets. Solutions with impact.
These innovations are implemented in many of our products. Thanks to our extensive operational experience with a wide range of heavy construction equipment, we are able to apply the best solutions to new products and projects. To this end, we have in-house expertise in mechanical, structural, naval, hydraulic, electrical, and software engineering.
Every day, we strive to make our solutions and service levels the new industry standard. We also continuously challenge our environment to elevate innovation, quality, and safety.
Wherever you work in the world, whatever you'll be doing with us, you'll have a challenging role in an international organization. You'll be part of a dynamic and professional company where innovation, quality, flexibility, and creativity are key. You'll contribute directly or indirectly to the development of innovative technologies and sustainable projects.
“At Huisman you have many opportunities to do what you want to do and to grow in the direction you want to grow.”

That's why we're constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our products. Whether you're a Manager, Engineer, or Production Worker, at Huisman we all share the same passion for technical innovation, safety, and efficiency.

Experienced registered pilots ensure that seagoing vessels enter and leave ports as safely and efficiently as possible. In the Netherlands and the Flemish ports along the Scheldt. Day and night. In all weather conditions. Supported by well-trained staff. This is how we contribute to a safe port.
For a registered pilot, no two days are the same. You sail not just one, but hundreds of vessels, all with different sailing and maneuvering characteristics. You advise various people of diverse nationalities every day. This sometimes requires adaptability and empathy. But above all, the work of a registered pilot is so rewarding because it demands a lot from you. You know it yourself: "parking" something as difficult to control as a large ship is an art in itself; the last 500 meters to the dock are often more critical than 500 miles at sea.
The Dutch Pilots' Corporation is an educational institution recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). Its Registered Pilot Training: Master in Maritime Piloting (OTR:MMP) program was accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) at the higher professional education (HBO) level in February 2014. This means that upon successful completion of the program, you may call yourself a Master of Science. The program is intensive, varied, and practice-oriented, and aims to produce professionals that bridge teams, shipowners, and society can rely on.
To participate in the training you must have at least:
Certificate of Competency for First Mate All Ships
higher professional education diploma
BRM/MRM certificate
Marcom-A certificate
If you have the right qualifications and experience, you can apply for the program. Eligible candidates will proceed through the selection process.
The final part of the selection procedure is the final interview with the Admissions Committee. This committee advises the educational institution's board (Institution Board) based on the results of this selection procedure. The Institution Board then decides who may participate in the program.
The registered pilots operate in four regions: North, Amsterdam-IJmond, Rotterdam-Rijnmond, and Scheldemond. Each region has its own challenges and dynamics. At the beginning of the selection process, you can indicate your preference for the region you would like to work in after completing the training. The training lasts 13 to 14 months, depending on the region in which you complete the training. The program has four phases.
In addition to the registered pilots, there is also a support company. This company is called Nederlands Loodswezen BV (NLBV). At NLBV, employees are available 24/7 to assist the registered pilots in their work. Nederlands Loodswezen is not only looking for registered pilots but also for people who want to work for the support company. This includes people for our pilot vessels and tenders, pilot service coordinators, mechanics, secretaries, IT specialists, HR staff, and our finance department.

As a maritime service provider, we perform a wide range of services for government agencies, insurers, and companies in the petrochemical, road, and hydraulic engineering sectors . We operate throughout Europe, in both inland and offshore shipping.

Holland Shipyards Group is a shipyard with experience in (electric) ferries, offshore support vessels, offshore accommodations, tugs, inland vessels, and dredgers. Holland Shipyards Group is known for its high quality, flexibility, and very short delivery times. The company has an informal yet professional atmosphere. Projects are carried out both on-site and off-site.
Our first shipyard has been in operation since 1981. Since then, we've grown into an organization with a broad focus but an overarching vision: whatever we do, we do it with a strong belief that we can improve the status quo.
This means we've been on the road for quite a few years and have built up experience. Our team is proof of this. Many have been part of our family business for years, sometimes from the very beginning, and will remain so in the future.
At our shipyard, you quickly become part of the family. Sometimes this even means we disagree, as happens in the best of families. But it always stems from good intentions. We go the extra mile for each other, growing together and towards each other. We believe that working in this environment fosters collaboration and results in the best products.
Our people are invaluable to us and by far our most important asset. Without them, we wouldn't deliver the products on time.
That's why we're so proud that a large part of the team has been with us for years, and that new colleagues have also found a great place within the Holland Shipyards Group. We wholeheartedly encourage our people to get involved in projects and value their feedback. This way, we can grow together to achieve the best possible results.

We are Blue Amigo, and our mission and ambition is to make the use of waterways at home and abroad even more efficient, effective, and sustainable. We do this for inland shipping, but also with our water buses, car and bicycle/pedestrian ferries, shipping guidance, and bridge and lock operation.

Lighting the way ahead together
TenneT is Europe's first cross-border grid operator and Europe's first offshore grid operator. We are committed to providing a secure and reliable supply of electricity, while helping to drive the energy transition. TenneT designs, builds, maintains and operates almost 24,000 km of high-voltage electricity grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany, and facilitate the European energy market through our 16 interconnectors to neighbouring countries.
Every day our 5,700 employees take ownership, show courage and make and maintain connections to ensure that the supply and demand of electricity is balanced for over 42 million people. Our offshores challenge are great. As offshore grid manager, TenneT will be constructing the infrastructure to bring thousands of megawatts of offshore wind energy onshore in the coming years. And many new offshore grid projects are planned. Think for example of the development of our 2GW stations for the Dutch IJmuiden Ver projects.
Together with market parties, TenneT developed the new 2GW (Gigawatt) standard to be able to accelerate offshore wind deployment. The new standard aims to further reduce the costs of offshore wind and to minimise the spatial and environmental impact.

Building superyachts together
Feadship is the world's leading designer and builder of luxury motor yachts. This is the result of years of craftsmanship.
Working at Feadship is special. This quintessentially Dutch company has roots dating back to 1849. How wonderful is that? Feadship is a group of closely collaborating companies that are among the absolute global leaders in superyacht construction. Since 1949, Royal De Vries Shipbuilding and Royal Van Lent Shipyard have been building the most beautiful custom-built superyachts under the Feadship brand. Feadship is the brand name of our yachts.
If you work for us, you'll be employed by one of Feadship's companies. This could be a shipyard, a production company, or our own design and engineering firm: De Voogt Naval Architects. This means we have all the expertise in-house to build our beautiful ships, from the first sketch to sea trials.
And it doesn't end there. To ensure a Feadship remains a Feadship, we have a Refit & Services department. There, we service the fleet and carry out updates at the owner's request – again, entirely according to their wishes and needs. This can range from a new paint job to extending a Feadship. Anything is possible.
At Feadship, you'll work at the absolute pinnacle of superyacht building. Craftsmanship, passion, and meticulous attention to detail result in a beautiful end product. Every Feadship is unique and custom-built, precisely to the client's wishes. A unique end product that everyone is proud of. Because you build a Feadship with such care, it feels a little like your own boat. That's what makes working at Feadship special!
We believe it's important for you to be able to develop yourself. That's why we offer a wide range of training courses to help you reach your full potential. We also focus on internal knowledge sharing: from colleagues, for colleagues. These sessions are organized for everyone within Feadship. This way, we learn from each other and simultaneously safeguard Feadship standards.
Feadship stands for "lifelong learning." This is partly to promote the sustainable employability of employees, and partly to facilitate internal advancement and further development. Therefore, we offer a wide range of high-quality training courses, delivered by professional and enthusiastic external trainers. You have a wide choice of these training courses.
At the Feadship Academy, all Feadship companies collaborate to promote employee development and training. The goal is to ensure employees remain employable. Some of these training courses are offered in-house. Other courses are offered externally.
By expanding your knowledge and experience, you can expand your responsibilities and grow. This can be done vertically, for example, by moving from skilled worker to foreman. It can also be done horizontally, developing into a specialist in your field. We'll discuss this during your development reviews. What are you good at, and what would you like to develop? How can you become even better at your job? Is that possible in your current role? Or are there opportunities with similar responsibilities and tasks, but perhaps in a different department? Together, we'll explore which career path is right for you.
“There are yachts and there are Feadships”

Spliethoff’s Bevrachtingskantoor B.V. was established in 1921 by Johan Fredrik Spliethoff as a shipbroker specialising in forest products from the Baltic. In 1946 the first new vessel, the MV Keizersgracht was delivered. The ship was named after the Amsterdam canal where the company had its offices. Ever since, the vessels have borne the names of canals (‘Gracht’) and this has become the trademark of the company over the years.
The delivery of the MV Keizersgracht marked the start of a successful shipping company. The fleet grew steadily from two ships in 1946 with a total DWT of 1,360 tonnes to 20 ships in the sixties with a total DWT of around 20,000 tonnes. During this time the ships mainly transported timber from ports in Russia or in countries around the Baltic Sea to ports in Northwest Europe. On the return legs all kinds of cargo was transported. However, the growth of the fleet also changed the field of work. In addition to the traditional transport of timber and timber products many other cargoes were shipped around Europe.
In 1975 Spliethoff ordered the construction of its first series of vessels in Japan. The delivery of these six ships led to a further change. Now the company was operating worldwide. Over 40 ships have been built at the same yard. This long-lasting relationship is typical of those that Spliethoff aims to maintain with its clients.

The Dutch Spliethoff quality of service was also very much appreciated outside of Europe and within a short time span, Spliethoff became well-known, with its ships sailing all over the world. Through the years Spliethoff has built on its quality reputation by constantly keeping the fleet up-to-date, manning it with highly qualified crews and by tailoring its ships to the market in close consultation with the customer.
Still an independent company, today Spliethoff manages a fleet of over 50 multipurpose, geared, tweendeck vessels, ranging from 12,000 to 23,000 DWT which all sail the Dutch flag.
Being the founding father, Spliethoff can call upon the assistance of the members of the Spliethoff Group: BigLift Shipping, one of the leading operators in the worldwide heavy lift market; Ro-Ro operator Transfennica, Finland’s leading provider of logistic services for the forestry industry, shortsea specialist Wijnne Barends, yacht transport companies Sevenstar and DYT, Ro-Ro tonnage provider Bore and ForestWave. In total around 145 vessels are operated by the Group.

Working at Boskalis is about creating new horizons and sustainable solutions. In a world where population growth, increase of global trade, demand for (new) energy and climate change are driving forces, we challenge our colleagues to make their mark in finding innovative and relevant solutions for complex infrastructural and marine projects. A major recent project for Boskalis was the Duqm project in Oman. As far as size is concerned, this huge project is reminiscent of major port construction projects such as Maasvlakte 2 in the Netherlands, Gorgon in Australia, Khalifa Port in the UAE and Porto do Açu in Brazil.
In recent years, Boskalis has been involved in projects in Oman, including The Wave and Salam Yiti in the port city of Muscat. The present engineering, procurement & construct contract is part of the master plan of the Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm. This plan is aimed at port development in Oman, with the port of Muscat being adapted to accommodate cruise vessels and the port of Salalah focusing on container handling.
The Duqm Liquid Bulk Berth Project involves the creation of an enormous port area that will house, among other things, a liquid bulk terminal and a refinery. “Our assignment included the construction of a large port basin and an entrance channel with a depth of 18 meters, as well as the construction of a kilometer-long quay wall and two 400-meter-long jetties,” says project director Bart Pröpper. “What made this work unique is that we decided, at an early stage, to start by building a temporary heavy ring dike of sand, a so-called bund. By pumping and keeping out all water we created a large, eighteen-meter-deep polder. In this construction pit we were able to build the quay wall and the two jetties,” he explains.
Operations began after an intensive design phase and extensive soil surveys. The trailing suction hopper dredgers Queen of the Netherlands and Prins der Nederlanden pumped in millions of cubic meters of sand through a floating pipeline for the construction of the ring dike. The sand was brought in from a borrow area about twenty nautical miles offshore. The hoppers sailed three times a day from the borrow area to the connection point, where they pumped tens of thousands of cubic meters of sand through a floating pipe to the location. At the same time the hopper dredger Crestway was carrying out maintenance dredging work in the existing access channel and port basin.
“We took the prevailing environmental requirements relating to turbidity into account during this operation,” says Bart. “We considered the needs of local fishermen in our operations and we put procedures in place to ensure that we didn’t disturb the colony of whales living in the area by having our mammal observers on the hopper dredgers.”
The new mega-cutter Helios played a major role on the project. With a total installed power of almost 24,000 kW, a pumping capacity of 15,600 kW and a maximum cutter power of 7,000 kW, the Helios is one of the most powerful cutter suction dredgers in the industry. The 152-meter-long vessel was developed to operate in extremely hard ground.
“The Helios started the first phase of dredging for the entrance channel to the new port area and began excavating the outer section of the port basin,” explains Bart. “During this first phase, we also came across a layer consisting of a tough mixture of rock and clay-like material that was difficult to dredge with the existing cutterheads. To tackle it better, our team of specialists designed new cutter heads that were built specifically for the Duqm project in a record time of five months.” Using those cutter heads, the Helios removed the majority of the 20 million cubic meters of rock and clay-like soil in the second phase of the project.
The dry excavation of the pit and the large-scale earthmoving were carried out under the supervision of colleagues from Boskalis Nederland involving over 80 units of dry earthmoving equipment. “The excavated soil was beneficially reused and taken to a location in the vicinity of the project site to build new port areas in the future,” says Bart. “For the maintenance work on cranes, excavators, bulldozers and trucks, a large workshop was set up by colleagues who know all that equipment like the back of their hand. By the time the excavation work was finished, 9.3 million cubic meters of soil was removed. It was a colossal project in every respect.”
Boskalis Nederland was also involved in the construction of a rock slope, which was covered with geotextile and rock. Some of the rock came from an existing breakwater, which forms one edge of the port area. The rock was removed from the inside of the breakwater before the sand was put in.
The colleagues from Boskalis subsidiary Cofra also had an important job to do. “To comply with the stringent demands for the compaction of reclaimed land, Cofra set up a special testing area to study the best possible approach to compaction,” says Bart. “They brought in heavy plant, including large dynamic compaction machines, to compact the land in the reclaimed areas. In the deeper sections of the landfill area we had to use the vibro flotation instead of the dynamic compaction method.”
“We have really gone the extra mile on this project to ensure a safe working environment for all our project staff and vessel crews. It was a major challenge for our designers, engineers and supervisors to make sure that the bund complied with the strict requirements for strength and dewatering,” explains Bart.
“Working in such a huge building pit surrounded by water created potential risks for our staff and project and involved all sorts of safety considerations. We had a range of monitoring systems in place for the bund to ensure that it wouldn’t slip, leak or break unnoticed. We have spent a lot of time on good rescue equipment, including ladders and rafts to get out of the pit safely in just a few minutes. Our safety awareness program NINA played a crucial role here. At the end of the project we celebrated the fantastic landmark achievement of more than six and a half million man-hours without a single lost-time incident. That is a direct result of the efforts and dedication of all project members and of our joint commitment to create a safe working environment.”
In the polder, partner Six Construct constructed the enormous quay wall. The more than 5,000 large concrete blocks that were required for this operation were produced in the specifically prepared casting and laydown area on site. At the same time, impressive steel structures for the two 400-meter-long jetties were built in the middle of the polder. This involved installing 330 large steel piles that were then connected to each other with steel beams and in situ poured concrete platforms and abutments.
As an extension of the contract an area of 1,800 by 350 meters was reclaimed along the breakwater. Again the sand was brought in from sand borrow areas, this time by the mega trailing suction hopper dredger Fairway. The area was compacted and the banks were covered by rock for protection. These activities were carried out in parallel with the last section of maintenance dredging and in combination with the water injection dredger Terra Plana for the final delivery of the project.
“From a technical and logistical point of view, we have achieved something very special here,” Bart concludes. “Perfect coordination between all different Boskalis and subcontractor disciplines was required to execute all the different tasks, without literally tripping over one another. Making sure all the different work disciplines were able to excel and at the same time stayed in tune with each other was the main challenge on this job. Thanks to our fantastic teamwork we can all be very proud that we produced a first class symphony in time and to the full satisfaction of the client.”

In 2024, shipping has had to rise to the challenge of increasing disruption and complexity
The drive to emission reduction has created a need for fuelling transition; new advanced technology has enabled enhanced risk management, improved efficiency and data-led decision-making; and geo-political shifts and climate change have created focus on energy and food security irrespective of changing trade flows and other disruptions. But navigating change and complexity is what we do best.

Ampelmann was founded on a unique premise, to make offshore access as easy as crossing the street.
The early beginnings of this idea can be traced back to 2002, when, at an offshore wind conference in Berlin, a simple, but ingenious idea was conceived. An upside-down flight simulator, also known as a Stewart platform, would enable a gangway to greatly increase the safety of personnel at sea by compensating for motions in all six degrees of freedom. The first research papers, patent and model soon followed and in 2008, the first transfers took place in the North Sea. Years of research and development had unequivocally proven that Walk to Work (W2W) is a safe, reliable and efficient offshore access solution. Ampelmann was founded in the same year and has been setting new standards for offshore access ever since.

Amasus Shipping
Amasus has changed enormously in the past few years.
In recent years the number of vessels under the commercial management of Amasus has grown from 10/15 in July 2006 to 80 vessels in 2021.
Apart from strengthening our fleet we have radically expanded the Amasus team. Young and experienced people, all nautically and economically trained, have joined us to reinforce and enhance the entrepreneurial spirit we need to achieve our ambitions.
Amasus is a partner for her clients to optimize and realize sustainable transport over water.
Amasus makes a recognizable contribution to the efficiency of the logistic processes of her clients.
Amasus remains initiator and stimulator of new ship designs to improve logistical processes.
Besides increasing the efficiency for our clients it is an important goal for us to reduce the claim on human and environmental recources.
Abition
It is our ambition to develop Amasus as a brand within a selected number of market segments in the Short Sea sector. These market segments are sea-river shipping, the Short Sea special cargo market and the Offshore.
We achieve our ambitions by working, in collaboration with our partners, on a fleet structure that is equipped for the above market segments. The current world fleet in the Short Sea sector has an average vessel size of 6,500 tons and will increase even more the coming years. As from 2008 the many newly-built vessels had an average size of 9.000 tons. The present order book shows an average size of 11.000 Dwt. Due to their dimensions, vessels of this size cannot be deployed in the market segments in which Amasus as specialist has been active since 1981.
Amasus takes responsibility, together with our partners, for permanently respecting the natural limits that have been established in our market segments for loading and unloading destinations for industry.
The new vessels that were added to the Amasus fleet since 2008 are smaller than 5,000 tons on average and our current order book will again guarantee a highly focused reinforcement of the fleet composition of Amasus Shipping and Amasus Offshore.
Achieving our ambitions enables us to create added economic value. In the vision of Amasus, the creation of added economic value should be combined with social justice and a healthy living environment.
Corporate social responsibility is Amasus´ chosen tool to create a balance between the economic, social and environmental aspects of its corporate policy. Corporate social responsibility is duly anchored within our company.
