The role
As Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings (Mechanical / Marine Engineering) you will be the key expert responsible for the selection, integration, and validation of valve and fitting systems on our naval vessels. Did you know that that piping systems of a naval vessel consist of more than 5000 valves and fittings?
As Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings, you will collaborate closely with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors from proposal to delivery, enhancing system performance, reliability, and compliance with strict requirements.
Key accountabilities
As Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings your responsibilities will include:
Develop and define system concepts and select optimal valve and fitting configurations during project engineering phases
Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Prepare and review technical specifications for suppliers and subcontractors
Evaluate quotations and ensure supplier deliverables
Collect and review the provided engineering data from suppliers and make sure these are available for the different engineering teams.
Conduct technical integration reviews and testing, focusing on valve and fitting interfaces
Identifies shortcomings or improvements for integration of the delivered components into the design and other systems in close cooperation with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Drive continuous integration improvements through validation, testing, and optimisation
Occasionally support factory acceptance testing (FAT), installation, and commissioning (including HAT/SAT)
Build strong partnerships with suppliers, clients, and regulatory bodies
Share expertise by coaching colleagues and promoting knowledge transfer
Skills & experience
For the position of Integration Engineer Valves and Fittings is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
MTS or HTS degree in Mechanical, Marine, or related technical field
Thorough knowledge of piping, system integration, and regulations
Experience with valves and fittings in marine or offshore projects
Result-oriented with effective communication and problem-solving skills
Fluent in English and Dutch is a plus
Experience with CAD tools such as Cadmatic and 3DExperience (Catia) is a plus
Ability to work in the Damen Naval location in Vlissingen, The Netherlands.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.

DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.
