About us

Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd is a joint venture between Damen Shipyards Group in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Shipyards Group to produce tugboats and work-boats. At the moment, the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard, outfitting, commissioning and delivering approx. 40 vessels per year to clients worldwide. At a later stage Damen Song Cam will further increase its production facilities to deliver approx. 80 vessels a year and will start to produce some of the hulls which are currently sub-contracted to other yards.

Material Coordinator (MC) is project connected. Deal everything related to materials and services in a project. Make sure all materials will be arrived on time according to planning

The role

Material Coordination is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials from suppliers to DSCS warehouse according to planning (on time/ best price/ good quality).

Create the Bill of material (BOM) for every Template.
Create Purchase requisition (PR) and actively manage it.
Create Purchase Order (PO) and actively manage it.
Expedite (trace material arrival in the yard).
Report material status in the project team.
Find alternative solutions in case materials are late or missing in DSCS warehouse.
Handling Nonconformity report (NCR).
Make a inventory list

Skills & experience

Education: Maritime Hull/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering & Technical University
Experience: 3 years’ experience with work preparation, planning, and logistics, supply chain (production-experience is a benefit)
Language: English

Shiprepair & conversion

Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has a worldwide network of 18 repair and conversion yards with drydocks ranging up to 420 x 80 metres. DSC yards have extensive experience – completing more than 1,300 projects every year, from normal drydockings for scheduled maintenance to damage repair, right up to extensive refit and conversion projects.

Services

Being active in the maritime industry demands continuous vessel reliability. For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of shipbuilding know-how.

Components

Damen is also specialised in the design and production of various marine components including propeller nozzles, rudders, special towing winches, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.
