Job Summary:

As an QHSE Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) requirements are consistently met throughout all phases of a project—from tendering to execution. You will support tender and project teams by providing practical, risk-based advice, identifying potential challenges early on, and helping to develop robust, compliant plans. In this role, you will actively contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of offshore and subsea operations. Beyond project support, you will also take a proactive role in driving continuous improvement within the organisation, contributing to the development and implementation of better processes, systems, and tools in line with industry best practices.

Reports to: QHSE Manager

Working Hours: 24-32 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General Responsibilities
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives, such as planning and implementing a strategy for getting certified for ISO14001 and other relevant standards.
    • Develop and implement improved methods for statistical data collection and analysis.
    • Contribute to the broader QHSE strategy and improvement roadmap.
    • Improving the quality control process – together with the QA/QC engineer.
  2. Tender Phase
    • Complete pre-qualification questionnaires and client-specific QHSE submissions.
    • Identify and assess QHSE requirements in tender documents.
    • Flag potential compliance challenges and advise on mitigation measures.
    • Support commercial and engineering teams with risk-related input.
  3. Project Preparation
    • Develop project-specific HSE Plans, Quality Plans, Environmental Plans, and Emergency Response Plans.
    • Coordinate with Field HSE Engineers to plan and schedule emergency drills.
    • Advise engineering teams (proactively and reactively) on QHSE aspects of project plans.
    • Contribute to Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
    • Facilitate and document risk assessments and HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) sessions.
    • Follow up on actions arising from risk assessments.
    • Prepare project-specific HSE inductions and onboarding for project personnel, including subcontractors.
  4. Project Execution
    • Facilitate the Management of Change (MoC) process and Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process.
    • Maintain close communication with Field HSE Engineers to stay aligned on daily HSE matters.
    • Provide ad-hoc support and HSE guidance to the project team as required.
    • Collect, maintain, and analyze QHSE statistics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  5. Close-out
    • Plan and facilitate internal and/or external lessons learned meeting.
    • Follow up and implement actions for improvement

Key Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent.
  2. Familiarity with the offshore and/or maritime sector is desired.
  3. Excellent communication skills; able to influence and advise both operational and engineering teams.
  4. Flexible mindset and hands-on attitude.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
